Multidisciplinary Designer & Maker | Nomadic Living | San Francisco, California

With an interest in blurring the boundaries between art, design, and craft, Jonathan has developed furniture, lighting, objects, and spaces for design studios and companies in Vancouver, New York City, and San Francisco. Before joining Fuseproject as an environmental designer in 2018, he worked as a freelance designer working on a wide range of projects in the Philippines, USA, Canada, and Norway. Jonathan holds an industrial design degree from Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver, Canada and briefly studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Jonathan’s professional practice has evolved into focusing on the emotional experience of objects and environments and the intangible impact they have to the human experience. Through this lens he constantly challenges himself to imagine noble ways of activating and transforming objects and environments from neutral experiences into collective, meaningful ones. Ultimately, Jonathan aspires to seek holistic approaches to designing products and environments that are inclusive, human-centric, sensitive to materials, processes, and relational to their makers, histories, and cultures.
