Multidisciplinary Designer & Maker | Nomadic Living | San Francisco, California

Jonathan S. Igharas is a Filipino-American multidisciplinary designer and maker specializing in developing contemporary furniture, lighting, and objects for residential, retail, exhibitions, and installations for both private and public environments. His creative mission is to blur the boundaries between art, design & craft through his work. Jonathan has worked in-house for product design studios both in Vancouver and New York City, and before joining Fuseproject in San Francisco in 2018, has worked and traveled as a freelance multidisciplinary designer in the Philippines, USA, Canada, and Norway. Jonathan holds an industrial design degree from Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Canada and studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Jonathan is passionate about objects and spaces and constantly challenges himself to imagine noble ways of activating and transforming environments from neutral spaces into collective, meaningful places. As his creative journey continues, Jonathan aspires to seek holistic approaches to designing products and environments that are inclusive, human-centric, sensitive to materials, and relational to their makers, histories, and cultures.
